Ready to sell your Louisville home?

Keep your place in tip-top shape without going crazy.

Waiting for someone to buy your home? Louisville’s market has been great this year - you could still get a contract before the new year rolls around! Keep your surroundings organized for that last minute real estate showing while still enjoying day-to-day life in your home.

Storage and Packing: Do you have some extra space for storage in your basement or attic? Keep it organized by stacking boxes after packing. Taking your time in advance with packing will make it less of a chore. Label boxes by organizing knick-knacks with no real use, holiday decorations, seasonal clothing, even books, wall hangings and photographs.

Cleaning: Think “spring cleaning” even if it isn’t spring. I’m talking cleaning those baseboards and walls with Murphy's oil soap, sweeping out from under the furniture, and deep-cleaning carpets. Make sure those windows are crystal clear, and that your bathroom is clean enough to eat off of. Keep your kitchen clean after day-to-day use.

Excess: Do you have some items you don’t use or want anymore? One key to selling your home is de-cluttering. Plan a yard sale on Craig's List! These are far less stressful if made in advance to moving. If it doesn't sell, pass along to Goodwill, family or friends.
