Louisville’s New-and-Improved Sheppard Park
A West End Park Receives Major Renovations and Additions for the Neighborhood
By Mike Hall, Broker/Agent/Owner
West End splash park offers summer fun!
For residents in the West End, Sheppard Park is a hot place to cool down this summer. The park recently received $600,000 worth of water features, toy drums, new restrooms, picnic tables and park benches. The park includes a brand-new splash area for the kids in the neighborhood, where they can go cool down and celebrate on these long, hot summer days.
The park renovations are just one piece of a plan to revitalize Russell, a West End neighborhood. There will also be art infused in the area with bus stops and murals, and vacant areas will be transformed to benefit the community. There are also plans for new housing in the neighborhood and other community development.
As the city celebrates new growth and revitalization in the West End, the neighborhood kids can simply rest and enjoy their newly improved park. There’s nothing like a quick run through a fabulous new splash pad to fill you with happy thoughts for a hot summer.
