Hot upstairs? Get the right air conditioner.
If your upstairs is sweltering, invest in the right room air conditioner.

We had a buyer once who backed out of a deal because the upstairs of the home he was ready to purchase was hot. That wasn't necessarily a good decision on his part - most all upstairs are hotter than the downstairs. Heat rises.
But, you can help keep the upstairs cool with the right room air conditioning unit. Not all Louisville homes need this, but if you're in an older home, such as a home in St. Matthews or Crescent Hills, that doesn't have a separate AC unit dedicated to cooling the upstairs, you may benefit from a window A/C.
What to look for:
Buy the right size for the square footage. If you buy a unit that has 5,000 to 6,500 BTUs, you'll only cool 100 to 300 square feet. Go bigger if you've got more square footage.
